1.Project Plan
(1.1)The Define Phase
(1.11)Introduction:

·   Write a statement describing the overall purpose of the project.

·   What is the key challenge or problem the project is aiming to address?

·   What are students intended to learn from the project?

This project aims at discovering the various uses of fire and the dangerous effect of fire once it is out of control. It will explore the following concepts-
     1.      Is fire a friend or foe?
     2.      The discovery of fire and its importance.
     3.      Fire is worshipped- an integral part of culture and religion.
     4.      Hazards caused by fire- once it gets out of control.
     5.      Preventive measures to check fire accidents including first aid.



                            

(1.12)Project Scope:
            Describe the scope of your project. This may include class and section, subjects it covers, self shills to be used etc. as well as other factors affecting scope.
Students from class  VII
Subjects involved  :English,  social studies and science
A class of 58 students are involved in the project making them into different teams of 10 students each.





 
(1.13) Curriculum and Standards:
            List the curriculum and standards this project with cover.

NCERT textbook
     1)      They will learn to apply text book information into real life.
     2)      About health and safety measures.
     3)      Modern technologies used to prevent fire.
     4)      Preventive measures with regard to electrical fire.
      5)      First aid in case of burns, shocks etc.

Lesson 2
2.1 Essential Question:
            Put in writing the question that will engage the students
Is fire a friend or a fire?

2.2 Grouping Strategy:
            Describe the criteria that will be used to form students team and how this maps to the goals of the project.
  •   Heterogeneous groups of 10 students will be formed. 
  •   Teacher monitors the activities as and when required. 
  •   Each group has a leader and will plan the strategy and informs the teacher. 
  •   Peer arrangement will be done among the groups. 
  •  Children with various strength will be utilized for the project.   
  •  Evaluates the progress in the group first and then to the class.

2.3 Learning Environment:
            Describe the learning environment for the project including any classroom adaptation that will be required.
  •   The group members will be seated together in the class while in work. 
  •   Library periods will be utilized to collect information. 
  •   Computer labs will be provided to students to collect data, information under the supervision of the teacher.

2.4Assessment Approach:

2.41 Authentic Assessment:
  •   First, Aid given in fire accidents- demonstration and description. 
  •   Precaution to be taken to avoid fire accidents. 
  •   Awareness campaign against fire hazards.

2.43 Summative Assessment:
  •  Report writing based on the information gathered from net and library. 
  •  Questionnaires for the survey. 
  •   PPT on fire- A friend or foe.

It will be used to assess- Presentation , resources used and teamwork and group dynamics.
2.45 Grading:

  • Focusing the content. 
  •   Methods adopted. 
  •   Team work. 
  •   Finalization of grades will be based on rubrics.

Lesson 3- Plan Phase

3.1 Work Breakdown, Products and Milestones:
            List the project task and, if possible at this stage include the sub-tasks. For each task add the product that will be created and indicate it will be a milestone.
v  Class room instruction: Fire its advantages and disadvantages.
v  Select student  group information: Student groups
v  Research: Library online and offline resources.
v  Class activity: Visit to different places to study about safety measures.
v  Survey of fire safety measures at school and home.
v  Knowledge of first aid and medical facilities available
v  Collection of data on fire prevention measures first aid in fire accidents.
v  Presentation: Fire safety measures and first aid measures.


3.2 Role definition:
            List the roles team members will fulfill in the project.

3.3 Task schedule:
            Note start and end dates for the project.

                List any special activities (e.g. Field trips or guest speakers) including dates.

v  What new skills I learned,
v  My best experience during the project
v  An evaluation report given by the students
