1.Project Plan

(1.1)The Define Phase
(1.11)Introduction:

              ·   Write a statement describing the overall purpose of the project.
              ·   What is the key challenge or problem the project is aiming to address?
              ·   What are students intended to learn from the project?

       1.       This project is intended to allow class VI students to explore the world of desert            and the animals in it.
       2.       To understand the kinds of animals in the desert.
       3.       To understand the kinds of Birds and insects

       4.       How do they survive in the desert
       The students will work in small groups building knowledge in these curriculum            areas and develop specific skills.










(1.12) Project Scope:
                  Describe the scope of your project. This may include class and section, subjects it                         covers, self shills to be used etc. as well as other factors affecting scope.


Students from class VI B,D

Subjects involved: Geography and English

Group of students collect pictures of common animals as well as rare species in the desert.









(1.13)  Curriculum and Standards:
             List the curriculum and standards this project with cover.


What is desert?
Name the different deserts in India and world over.
Animals found in the desert-Collect pictures of animals and their food habits.
How do they survive: Explain how certain animals survive?

Lesson 2
2.1 Essential Question:
            Put in writing the question that will engage the students

What is a desert? Find the names of deserts in India and the world.

2.2 Grouping Strategy:
            Describe the criteria that will be used to form student’s team and how this maps to the goals                 of the project.

A team consisting of 10 students of different skills joins together.
Bright students will get more information from net and library. The students of lower ability will gather the information and do the file work.


2.3 Learning Environment:
            Describe the learning environment for the project including any classroom adaptation that will             be required.

Computer labs and libraries are used to collect materials. Those who are staying nearby will gather in one home and prepare the file. Some will collaborate through whats app.

2.4Assessment Approach:
                Describe the approach for:

                2.41 Authentic Assessment(Perform real tasks)
Refer library and browse internet from computer rooms.
           
2.42 Formative Assessment:
           
Regular feedback will be provided as the students work on internet and library research surveys and presentation of their findings.

2.43 Summative Assessment:

Assessment will be conducted on team portfolios in blogs/e mails. Power point presentations

2.44 Rubrics:

Rubrics are to assess the Presentation/file.

2.45 Gradings:

Based on combination of scores from assessment made during the project.
